Product remarks

  • The unique item shown on the image is the exact item you will receive.
  • The Mbagani - Lwalwa people have different types of art but the majority of Lwalwa art in collections consists of beautifully schulpted masks. Characteristically elongated - with a prominent nose - rectangular eyes and a small hole between the mouth and nose through which a cord is passed in order to secure the mask on a dancer's face. The rope would be tied in a knot on the outside - and in the inside a piece of wood would have been attached to it that the dancer held in his teeth.
