When the village is threatened by witchcraft the secret society uses two masks to prevent the damage. Koma Ba a female figure the mother of all masks sings and dances to attract the attention of evil spirits. At the same time the cruel male figure Koma Sou roams the village and the surrounding bush to slay the so distracted evil forces. Both masks are only allowed to be seen by the initiated. Both masks were kept in a sanctified hut at the heart of the sacred enclosure and were objects of sacrifices.
